Since 1999 Artiwood Australia has been creating quality, imaginative and playful educational toys manufactured by small family owned handicraft businesses in the rural areas of Sri Lanka (a country where its owner, John Daniels, had been living and working for many years). Today over 10 years later the Artiwood business and brand continues to expand using the same basic principles – high quality, safe, ethical and sustainable manufacturing.

This year we are also happy to be able to introduce the Artiwood fabric range of toys which are made from 100% natural cotton and dyed in an ecologically sensitive manner. This fabric range of toys are for children of all ages and manufactured for us in rural Sri Lanka by a traditional hand loom weaving company who are members of the International Fair Trade Organisation.

Artiwood is proud to introduce the amazingly creative “Im Toy” brand of toys from Thailand for whom we have become the exclusive distributors for in Australia. We feel that their products, ethics and practices complement our own in so very many ways.

Im Toy have been creating wooden and fabric toys since 1987. All toys have been carefully designed and produced from environmentally friendly materials and sustainable rubber wood. Their multi functional toys are made up of a wide range of baby toys, educational toys, musical toys, gift, game and ride-ons. Original designs and excellent craftsmanship using child friendly materials ensure many years of educational fun and value.

1. All products are safe-to-use, environmentally friendly, produced and manufactured under the strictest ethical considerations.
2. All products comply with international safety regulations, including individual piece size requirements and tested to EN71 standard.
3. All products are finished with a non-toxic child-safe paint and lacquer.
4. Packaging is kept to a minimum including recycling cardboard boxes to post the orders.

Why Rubberwood
Many of our products are made from carefully selected, treated and seasoned rubber wood. Rubberwood is an un-endangered and renewable source of timber used in the production of latex and cultivated on plantations in Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Plantation rubberwood allows us to make quality wooden toys while leaving natural forests unharmed.
